Haşmet Mesut Özsoy
05.04.1968 Born in Mesudiye, Ordu, Turkey. He began his primary education in 1974 at Ankara Yükseliş College and completed it in 1979. He started his secondary education in Afyonkarahisar at Şemsettin Karahisari Middle School. After finishing middle school there, he completed his first year of high school at Izmir Atatürk High School and continued his high school life at Afyon High School.After attending the Faculty of Medicine at Elazığ Fırat University for one year, he successfully completed the Faculty of Medicine at Anadolu University. Following his medical education, he received training in Surgical Oncology, Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery, and In Vitro Fertilization at Shote University Faculty of Medicine in Hungary. He also conducted seminars in the Turkish Studies Department at Shote University. After completing his training, he continued his education in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department of the Ministry of Health Ankara Hospital for two years, where he represented Turkey in the field of health on the platform of the Turkish Republics. Periodically, he visited the Turkish Republics and held meetings in university libraries during his travels.In 1996, he successfully completed his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ankara Hospital. Haşmet Mesut Özsoy's first assignment was at Çay District State Hospital in Afyon. What is remarkable about Haşmet Mesut Özsoy is that no Obstetrician-Gynecologist had ever come to Çay District before, so he worked there with all his energy for a year.In 1998, he was invited by the then President Süleyman Demirel to establish and structure the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Süleyman Demirel University. Haşmet Mesut Özsoy was appointed as an Assistant Professor to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Süleyman Demirel University in Isparta.He set up a team in the formation of a university hospital with 600 beds from a two-story state hospital, and served as the chairman of the disciplinary committee, the audit committee, and as the health advisor to the then President of Turkey, Süleyman Demirel.During this period, he conducted research on cancer patients from all over the world at the Catering Cancer Hospital in New York, USA. A year later, he returned to Süleyman Demirel University.In 2004, he successfully passed the Associate Professorship exam at Gazi University in Ankara and obtained the title of Associate Professor. During this process, he continued his domestic and international studies on articles and book chapters. With the studies he conducted in the field of Surgical Sciences at Süleyman Demirel University, he served as an invited speaker and organized meetings for five years in the USA and most European countries, where the majority of the population is Turkish.From time to time, he tried to be a scientific partner, not only in the field of health but also in its problems, in Cyprus and Turkish Republics. He served on the board of directors, the disciplinary committee, and the audit committee of the Cancer Society in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the In Vitro Fertilization Society, the Urogynecology Society, the Menopause Society, and the Perinatology Society. In the meantime, wherever he was, he served as the president of the gynecology society of that region, trying to inform his fellow citizens through meetings with doctors via visual and sensory media.He was invited to establish the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Başkent University in Izmir by a letter from Mehmet Haberal, the Rector of Ba??kent University. Due to the fact that his spouse was a member of the Turkish Armed Forces and was assigned to Izmir at that time, he accepted this duty, and in 2009, he participated in the establishment of the Karşıyaka Zübeyde Hanım Hospital of Izmir Başkent University. After conducting his scientific studies for 2 years there, in 2012, he was awarded the title of Professor by Professor Doctor Ali Haberal, the Rector of Başkent University at the time.He continues to conduct scientific studies in Izmir, especially on recent developments in gynecologic oncology and In Vitro Fertilization, and strives to convey information through local and national media channels. During this process, he has published a total of 95 articles, 16 book chapters, and 18 guidebooks. Haşmet Mesut Özsoy has been a speaker and session chair at numerous seminars and congresses abroad.
